The small county Limerick town of Dromcollogher is in the west of the county, close to the border with Cork. In the middle of the 19th century it hosted races on Monday 18th February 1856 when the opening Weight for Age Handicap Sweepstake saw Mr Drinan’s Sidecut defeat Smith O’Brien and Diamond. In the later, more valuable, Handicap Sweepstake over 2 miles Smith O’Brien gained her revenge, seeing off the determined challenge of both Jane and Diamond. There is no evidence of any further meetings held in the town.
